About me and my work

I am an experienced Person Centred Counsellor and focusing orientated psychotherapist.  I am a lecturer at East Sussex College teaching the Foundation degree in Person Centred Counselling course.

Primarily, my role is to create a trusting relationship where you feel able to explore what is currently challenging you in an open and non-judgemental way. My aim is to offer you my insight and kindly presence so that, together we can build an environment in which you feel able to take risks, work creatively and  make the significant and sustainable changes that you desire.

I have worked for many organisations over the last decade. These have included the NHS -GP referral service (IAPT); an NHS peri-natal depression service; the Mankind Charity; local Drink and Drug services; Youth Services and Suicide Survivor services.

I currently practice from my therapy room in Lewes, close to the Victoria Hospital and work with both individuals and couples who find themselves struggling, are in crisis or who just want to find new strategies for living a more fulfilling life. I also work with various Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) services.

I work within the B.A.C.P.’s framework of good practice and as such I receive regular supervision and have a commitment to both my own personal and professional development.

I am a qualified focusing orientated therapist and trainer, and am also familiar with other different therapeutic approaches having studied other schools of therapy as part of my continuing personal development. As such I offer a flexible, creative way of working and endeavour to encourage you to be the same. My role is to create an atmosphere in which we can work together in a collaborative way. An approach that can empower you, with my experience, insight and enthusiasm, to find ways to help you manage your life the way you’ve always wanted it to be.

For whatever reason you choose to contact me I will offer you a safe, welcoming and confidential space. I offer both long and short term therapy work.
